League Information and Registration

The Chestermere Curling Association has 3 sheets of ice available for league play. 

A FREE REFRESHER CURLING CLINIC will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 1PM – 4PM to the first 24 people registered. To Register, please send an email to info@chestermerecurling.com with your request to attend.

Weeknight League Registration Information

Our season will begin with Exhibition games starting on Monday, October 7, 2024 and will run until March 2025.  Draws will be held at 6:45 PM and 9:00 PM each evening for leagues with more than 7 teams. For leagues with 7 teams or less there will only be a 7:00 PM draw with byes in leagues with an odd number of teams.

  • Returning Teams: One player from your team must Register your “Intent to Play” by August 25th to secure your spot for the upcoming season. You only need 2 names on the form to be considered a returning team in the league you played in last year and will have until final registration to fill your team.
  • New Teams: One player from your team can also Register their “Intent to Play” starting July 25. As returning teams will be allowed to register first, all NEW Teams will be put on the waitlist in the order they are received. You can register with only 2 names on the form and will have until final registration to fill your team.
  • After the August 25th DEADLINEwaitlist teams will be contacted on a first come, first served basis to fill any open spots.
  • FEES ARE NOT DUE until Mid-September: $1100.00/team ($275 per person for each of the 4 key players plus additional fees as outlined below). If you have a 5th and 6th player registered, your team can decide how to split up the fees.
  • Final Registration: In Mid-September, each player will be required to Complete Registration and sign a Liability Waiver using the Curling I/O Program.  Email instructions will be sent out to the Team Contact on how to complete this registration and how to submit your fees by e-transfer or cheque.
  • If you are missing a player, please email info@chestermerecurling.com with the league you are in and what position needs to be filled. We will do our best to help you find a suitable player to round out your roster.

Senior League Registration Information

Our Senior league runs Thursday mornings from 10AM to 12PM, starting Thursday, October 17th.  Senior age restriction of 50+. All players register individually as new teams are picked each week.

  • All Returning Players: must Register your “Intent to Play” starting July 25th, you have until August 25th to secure your spot for the 2024-2025 season. 
  • New Players: may also Register their “Intent to Play” starting July 25th and will be put into spots on a First Come First Serve basis if there are any openings. If all spots are filled, players will be put on a waitlist in the order their registration is received.
  • After the August 25th DEADLINE, players on the wait list will be contacted to join the league if there are openings.
  • FEES ARE NOT DUE until Mid-September: $70.00 per person (plus additional fees as outlined below)
  • In Mid-September each player will be required to Complete Registration and sign a Liability Waiver using the Curling I/O Program.  Email instructions will be sent via email on how to complete this registration and submit your fees by e-transfer or cheque.

Sturling League Registration Information

  • Returning Players: must Register your “Intent to Play” starting July 25th until August 25th to secure your spot for the upcoming season.
  • NEW PLAYERS OR TEAMS of TWO: may also Register their “Intent to Play” starting July 25th, after the August 25th DEADLINE, if there are openings, players on the wait list will be contacted to join the league.
  • LEAGUE FEES ARE NOT DUE until early October. $100.00/person/league (plus additional fees as outlined below).
  • There will be two separate leagues:
    • Friday Mornings – Two 1-hour games back-to-back from 10AM – 12PM
    • Friday Afternoons – Two 1-hour games back-to-back from 1PM – 3PM
  • You may choose to join the 8-draw session before Christmas (Fall League – October 25 to December 13, 2024) or the 8-draw session after Christmas (Spring League – January 10 to March 14, 2025) or Register for Both.
  • You may sign up as an individual and we will try to find a partner for you.
  • If you Register for the Morning Draw you may Spare in the Afternoon draw for Free and vice versa.
  • In Mid-September each player will be required to Complete Registration and sign a Liability Waiver using the Curling I/O Program.  Email instructions will be sent via email on how to complete this registration and submit your fees by e-transfer or cheque.

Adult Learn to Curl League:

Our Adult Learn to Curl league plays Sunday evenings from 7PM – 8:30 PM starting November 3, 2024 until March 9, 2025 (14 games total). Each week there will be some on ice instruction followed by game time. New teams will be formed each week to give everyone a chance to play each position and meet new people.

  • We can accept the first 24 players registering their “Intent to Play”
  • No fees will be collected until October.
  • League Fees: $100.00/person. Learn to Curl participants do not have to pay the $17.00 Curling Alberta/Canada Fee but must purchase a CRCA Community Membership.
  • Each player will be required to Complete Registration and sign a Liability Waiver using the Curling I/O Program.  Email instructions will be sent via email on how to complete this registration and submit your fees by e-transfer or cheque.

Additional Fees:

  • CCA will collect the Curling Alberta/Canada Fee of $17.00/person (only paid once regardless of how many leagues you play in) if you have not already paid this fee through another club.
  • Each player (including 5th and 6th players) must purchase a CRCA Community Membership prior to the start of curling. We highly recommend purchasing your membership as soon as possible. Click HERE for Community Membership Information and Online Purchasing.

Spares

Spares must be Registered on Curling I/O and submit a liability waiver but do not pay any fee’s or require a CRCA membership to play. If you would like to Spare, please send an email to info@chestermerecurling.com with your name, phone number, email address and the leagues you are available to Spare in.

Practice Ice

Unless the ice has been booked for another event, free practice ice is available on Saturdays from 1:00 – 3:00 PM for Chestermere Curling Club members. You should contact the complex office (403-272-7170) on Fridays to ensure availability to save you a trip to the rink on Saturday.  If the double doors leading to the change room for the curling rink are locked, please go into the Blue Arena and use the Man Door that leads back into the curling change area. Remember to always bring a pair of clean indoor shoes to change into before entering the curling ice area if you do not own curling shoes.
